Turning 40

The day I had imagined in my mind to be the day the wrinkles pop out on my face and the grey hair to sprout from unimaginable places has finally arrived.  Officially I am now a member of the 40 and older club.  Yes, the event occurred on Thanksgiving Day which means that the majority of my family completely forgots my birthday.  Instead I get many "Happy Thanksgivings".  My father, of course to remind me that today was my birthday, calls me at 8:00 in the morning.  I am a late sleeper, yes he woke me up.  I was thankful he did not sing!

Yesterday, my loving husband took me to see a girlie movie "Breaking Dawn" and out to eat.  We finished off the day with a ride in the country.  I had a wonderful time and would not trade it for anything.

On Thanksgiving you are to be thankful for something, I could say family and friends but I am thankful for them everyday.  The thing I am most thankful for is that I have been given 40 years of life and have been able to watch my children grow to the ages of 9 and 6.  My mother passed at 25 leaving a 4 year old and a newborn.  I pray that God would allow me to live to see my childrens children.  Something my mother was not able to do.

So I am giving thanks today for LIFE and LIVING the life that God has given me.

My thoughts :)

My house is finally smelling good, the boys were wild little heathens this weekend.  Now it is time to begin my writing and get my book finished.  This is my warm up to get the juices flowing.  I have changed up several things with the story trying to add a bit of mystery to the plot.  Also Drake was not the macho man I had dreamed of him being in the last excerpt that I wrote.  Claire is coming around and warming up a bit to others but Sophie is the most trying character to develop.  Nicholas is not much help either.  If I could bring all the threads of interest together and make my written tapestry as beautiful as I see it in my mind, then I know it will be a good story.  Off to write!  Wish me Luck!

I have not written in a while.  My book is half way through and now my ADD is hindering me from bringing it all together.  Plus I have taken on a sewing/crochet project that will finally be over with next weekend, YAHOO!  Maybe then I can complete what I have been working on for the last three years.  Do all first books take this long to finish?  Mine has so much research on the time period that I have to go back and change points and situations constantly.  I want it to be true to the period but also easy/interesting to read, lets add a bit of fantasy to it as well.  Atleast my characters have not changed but pieces of the plot have been rearranged.  When I get it almost complete I will post several more excerpts for your opinions.

Thanks for your previous comments they were encouraging :-)
